Letter to the president.
Yo President Snow,
My Name is Chief Keef, tribute in the 73rd Hunger Games, reppin district 12. I’m poppin this letter to you because I wanted to tell you how Git it is that im going to rep for my district. When I was a junior and I pictured myself being in the Games I thought it would be horrible, slaughtering people all because the capitol can’t control the power they have over people. But now that Im an alpha and have felt the troubles of being able to survive on my own, I see that this is a great opportunity to be able to rise above. That is if I win. If not I guess ill just get slaughtered but that’s chill too man! I guess the other G’s in my district don’t appreciate the games like I do. I see it as a opportunity. They see it as a bunch of holmes killing eachother. But I think as long and I hide for the majority of the games I have a good chance. After all I’m built pretty big and I know how to use bows, traps and my handy dandy whip. My friends are pretty chill about me going in the games. They know how good I am with my tools and weapons. I go hunting almost every day so I know how to do that. So ill do pretty good. My moment of weakness will come when I have to fight melee style. I can hurt people with a whip but I cant kill them. So that’s why I wanted to stay in the bushes. Anyways back to the hizzle. Thanks dawg for putting on the games this year.
Wish me luck in the hood!
Peace man

Dystopian Genre
The hunger Games is a perfect example of a dystopian novel. For example, "It has a group of people who are not under the capitols control, the hero puts her hopes in this band of rebels." In the hunger Games, the rebels are the people who do not agree with what the capitol. Like putting on the Hunger Games every year. They start to show how they feel about the capitol near the ending of the book and Katniss (the hero) feels the same way as them and you will see how this hatred evolves in the second book. Another example would be "A hero from this society who feels there is something wrong with the way it is run and fights to change the accepted order" The first act of Katniss rebelling to the capitol would be when rue died and the did the three ponged hand sign to the camera's. Showing people that the Capitol doesn't control what she does. A more dramatic example of her rebelling would be when She and Peeta almost both committed suicide, simply because the game makers changed the rules of the games before they ended.
Theseus and the Minotaur
In theseus and the minotaur, every year there are fourteen poeple, men and women forced into a labrynth to face the Minotaur and potentially get eaten. Before hand they would get fed a great feast and get spoiled with food they would not regularly get. The base line of this story is the same as the Hunger Games.
In the Hunger games 24 people are drawn to be put into a arena. Before they go into the arena they must travel through the districts until they reach the capitol. On that journey they will get fed great food and luxuries. Then they are placed in the hunger games arena and must kill each other until the last one stands. Also, in both these stories these sacrifices happen because of previous affairs such as war, or betrayal.

Gender Stereo Type
What is a Gender Stereotype?
Gender stereotypes are stereotypes directed specifically to either gender.
Are there any gender stereotypes with Peeta and Katniss?
Yes, Peeta is very gentle and in my mind very fragile. A regular stereotype for a man would be to be strong and un-emotional. Katniss is very emotionally strong and very self reliant. In real life you would picture a girl to be reliant on the more dominant person.
Are there any gender stereotypes with any other characters?
Thresh is very muscular and brute but keeps to himself and rarely shows himself. In real life a big muscular man like thresh would be picture to be loud and generally violent.
I would say the Hunger Games has a good representation to gender equality. It gives you the opposite of the normal gender stereotypes and makes it interesting.

Emily Dickinson poem
1. My snippet was "Hope is the thing with feathers."
2. I thought it related to the hunger games because Katniss's own lucky charm or her symbol of hope was her Mockingjay pin. Which is a bird that has feathers.
3. The meaning of the poem is that hope can come from anywhere can help you get through the hardest of situations. And it will not ask for anything in return.

My story District 12
My name is Chief Keef, Born in the seam, I have learned to survive by myself. My parents died when I was young and the only way for me to survive was to learn how to hunt. My speciality is with traps. I know how to make over 200 different traps all for different things. Things were a bit tough this year with hunting, so, I decided to put my name into the reaping bowl a couple more times. I didn't think I would get picked judging on how many names were in there, but, I guess I was wrong. I'm kind of excited to be part of the Hunger Games. My life in district 12 wouldn't have lead to much. But, now, if I win it could change my whole life around. And with all the experience I have hunting I think I have a pretty good chance. I'm most scared of those careers, they've been training their whole life for these games! I'm 17 years old now so that means ill be one of the older tributes. All my friends are upset that I'm going. My whole district hates the capitol for putting these games on every year. But as I said before. When and if I come back, my life will be completely different! it would be great! I guess they only see the killing side of it though.
Compare & Contrast
The differences between the hunger games and the lottery.
The hunger games and the lottery and both very vulgore stories. Both involve murder for no cause. The only real difference is that the hunger games is on a bigger scale. There are 23 tributes that will die. In the lottery there is only one. There are many similarities, and there are many differences. Such as each story has a reaping. Or in the lottery there are no volunteers.
