In my picture, I have used the words: Abnegation,  Erudite, Dauntless, Amity, Candor, Suicide, Love,  bravery, Love, Family, Friendship, Tests, Initiation, War and traitor. I have chosen all these words because they all have a big meaning in the book. The first five words I used are the five different factions that are in the novel. Love, Family, and friendship are all other things that happened in the book. I used the word traitor because Tris, the main character, had a friend named Al. He tried to kill Tris to improve his raking in the initiation progress. All the others are pretty self explanatory. I chose to use a wolf as the symbol of my book. Because, the books meaning is to strive towards what you want to do, not what others want you to do. And that takes bravery and courage. And I think a wolf represents that very well.

The main idea of the book divergent is to be true to who you are, and what you want to be.

Before I read this book I didn't know what to expect. I thought it was going to be about a girl and something related to fire. I know now that the book is about a girl named Tris, she is a girl who did not want to be part of the faction she was born in to. She thought it was a boring way of life in the faction of Abnegation. So she decided to switch to a different one named Dauntless. The Dauntless live a life full of  action and adventure. And that is why she switched. The rest of the book is about her story of getting through the initiation to become a full member of the Dauntless. 

The world in witch the book took place is now not a better world, but a worser one. In the beginning of the book all factions lived in harmony. But, at the end of the book, a war just ended between two of the five  factions: the Abnegation and the Dauntless. Killing many people of both factions.

I do not think that my character, Tris, would take part in the Vancouver riots. In her old faction, Abnegation, they were taught to only think of other people. And throughout most of the book, she keeps this trait with her. And, if she did take part in it her faction leaders would severly punish her. And she would not want to take that risk as the faction leaders do not like her and they are close to finding out she's divergent. So, she would not want to take the risk.

I chose a wolf as a symbol for Divergent. I chose a wolf because they represent bravery. And in my book, the main character Tris has left her old faction that represents selflessness to join the a new faction named Dauntless, which represents bravery. 

Question 1: What happened to edward in the middle of the night?

Answer: He got stabbed in the eye by Drew and Peter. I think they did this so he would leave his new faction and so their rank would go up by one place.


Question 2: What did Tris find out about her mother?

Answer: She found out that her mother left the Dauntless faction. Now, shes trying to find out why she ever left it. I think she left it because she liked living life very simply.

Question 3: What ranking will Tris end up at the end of initiation?

Answer: My prediction is that she will end up in the bottom. And right when shes about to be kicked out of her new faction. Four will step in and let her stay.

One connection I made with Divergent to the world was war. In the book Divergent there are 5 different factions:Dauntless,Abnegation,Amity,Erudite and Candor. All the factions have something against one and other. For example, The Erudite faction doesn't like the Abnegation faction and so forth. And in reality, there are some places that get in fights more than other places. Such as america and Afghanistan.

Another connection I made with the Divergent novel was to the book named "Hunger Games." The connection I made was that in Divergent there are different factions, and in the, "Hunger Games," there are different districts. In the "Hunger Games," the 12 different districts have a competition. That competition is to have a boy and a girl from each district to go into a giant arena type map, and fight to the death. The last person to survive wins. In Divergent, at the age of 16 each person needs to choose a faction for there own. When I was reading divergent. There was a chapter surrounded in the choice of the kids new faction. And I felt like it was a competition of witch faction got the most new kids.
